At the same time, the county also has a pool of skilled labour in high-tech industries and high-tech
knowledge-intensive services (software services, telekom, etc.).Timiș county concentrates 65% of the
number of people working in research at regional level.

The number of people employed in this field increased considerably between 2008 and 2019 (around 150%),
the majority of employees being researchers.
As of the end of 2021, aproximately 13,000 active employees with an average salary of RON 12,000 were
registered as specialists in information and communication technology.
