The wine of Csongrád

Grapes have been played a significant role in the life of the inhabitants since ancient times. It is assumed that grapes were in this area at the time of Hungarian Conquest grown. This is one of the hottest wine regions of the country, creating perfect conditions to evolve all the colour and fragrance, flavour and sugar in the fruits necessary for a smooth, full-bodied red wine. The greatest international recognition of the red wine is the title "International City of Grape and Wine" that Csongrád received in Rome in 1986. Among the typical types of red wines are the Cabernet, Zweigelt, Kadarka and the most widespread Blaufränkisch.
